‘FIT’ NOTE OUTLINED

The Government's much trailed ‘fit' note is due to come into force in April 2010. The note, which will replace the current ‘sick note' used by GPs, is designed to encourage a swifter return to work for those off sick than currently happens. When trialled many patients who would have been classified as unfit for work moved to the ‘may be fit for some work' category.
