EC AIMS TO RECAST RADIATION SAFETY STANDARDS

In November 2009 the European Commission wants to propose the consolidation of a series of ionising radiation (EURATOM) Directives into one Basic Safety Standards Directive. A Working Party will work on the draft during 2008/09, and then take an Opinion to the EC in November 2009. The EC is expected to publish a proposal by the end of 2009.
