Approaching manual handling from another angle, the HSE is currently consulting on guidance to labelling loads with their precise weight. This sort of labelling already happens in many situations (for example the delivery of various consumer goods). While The Manual Handling Regulations (MHOR) do not put a legal duty on manufacturers or suppliers to mark weights on loads, they do have duties under sections 3 and 6 of HSW Act to protect non-employees who may be affected by handling loads they have supplied ...
